Windows Activation Using Global Protect

Confirm VPN Access

  1. If you have logged into the VPN before or have already requested VPN access, please proceed to: Configuring Global Protect.
  2. Login to the UK Account manager with your UK account credentials : https://ukam.uky.edu

    Your account credentials are often referred to as your linkblue username and password.

  3. Under the "Account" tab confirm your "Campus VPN" status is "Active"

Request VPN Access

  1. If you've checked your VPN status and it does not show "Active"
  2. Request access to the VPN. Instructions for how to do this can be found here: Public - How do I request main campus VPN access? (service-now.com)

Configuring Global Protect

  1. Confirm if you have Global Protect already installed. To do this, click on the start button on the bottom middle or bottom left of your window.

  2. In the search box that appears, type "GlobalProtect"

  3. If GlobalProtect appears as shown above, you already have GlobalProtect installed and can proceed to: Connecting To The VPN
  4. If GlobalProtect does not appear, please proceed to: Installing GlobalProtect

Installing Global Protect

All HDI provided computers should already have GlobalProtect installed and configured. Please ensure you do not already have GlobalProtect installed before continuing.

  1. Navigate to https://ra.uky.edu
  2. Login with your UK account username and password.
  3. Download the correct version of GlobalProtect for your computer.

    For most users this will be "Windows 64 bit GlobalProtect Agent"

  4. Proceed with the GlobalProtect Installation by opening the downloaded file and following the on screen prompts.

ConnectConnecting to the VPN

Click Connect and it'll take you to a page to log in using your UKY account, your Issue should be fixed as soon as you're connected
